Fettercairn is a hidden gem within malt whisky.
Until recently, it has rarely been seen as a single malt but this 12 year old - aged in American White Oak ex-Bourbon casks - is a perfect example of why this tropical fruity whisky deserves to shine as a single malt.
The distillery's founder, Sir Alexander Ramsay, was one of the Scottish landowners who campaigned to license Scotch Whisky distillation in the early 1800s.
